Principles of Reintegration

We can provide an outreach model based on principles of reintegration to school. These principles are as follows:
  1. Rebuilding relationships and trust in education - mentoring and resilience building.
  2. Learning to learn again - disengagement and barrier reduction. It is vital to ensure that individuals relearn the skills of learning to be able to bridge gaps in their education.
  3. Valuing education and future proofing - quick wins and reward conditioning to ensure individuals reconnect with the value of education and their individual pathways (to include AQA unit awards).
  4. Baseline testing, assessment and filling learning gaps - individuals who are assessed when they are in crisis will almost always underachieve. When pupils demonstrate that they feel safe and are ready to be assessed, we will baseline and develop a learning plan to ensure there is progress at the earliest opportunity.
  5. Preparation for reintegration - whether this is the current or future setting, pupils will be prepared for reintegration including securing knowledge, self-esteem and self-worth.
  6. Preparation for adulthood - including careers support, Gatsby benchmarks, next steps post 16 and reducing the likelihood of NEET.
  7. Quality first teaching and the ‘Three Waves of Intervention’ model.
