About The Satellite School
Ambition
We set up The Satellite School in 2024 to bridge a gap in alternative provision. We had highlighted a need for a mobile and portable educational offer that provides targeted support and training throughout the education system, in order to provide intervention practices where they are needed most.Working in schools, we felt that some alternative provision offers were lacking the direction and targeted interventions needed by the learners to get back on track within their learning journey and pathway to young adulthood - so we converted a seventeen-seater minibus into a mobile learning environment.
Engagement
We provide an outreach model built on the principles of reintegration. Pupils rebuild trust in education through mentoring, resilience building and learning how to learn again. Quick wins and reward conditioning help reconnect them with the value of education and their own future pathways.When pupils feel safe and ready, we baseline, assess and create learning plans to close gaps early. Our focus is on preparation for reintegration, securing knowledge, self-esteem and self-worth. We also prepare pupils for adulthood with careers support, Gatsby benchmarks and next steps post-16.The offer is wide-ranging. Behavioural mentoring, CBT, and social and emotional support sit alongside creative, academic and practical learning. Pupils access English, maths, sciences, humanities, STEM, art, food studies, digital media, citizenship, sport and forest school activities. Each experience builds confidence, resilience and a love of learning.
Outcome Services
At The Satellite School we help learners rebuild confidence and re-engage with education. Our focus is on preparing young people for the next step in their journey, whether that is returning to their forever school, moving through transition, or building clear routes into adulthood and future learning.We work with families to develop trust, responsibility and positive interactions. Pupils learn to take ownership of their choices and futures, while building the skills needed for personal growth and sustained success.For schools and local authorities we provide practical tools, strategies and interventions. These improve behaviour and attendance, reduce disruption, and ease financial pressures with targeted, good-value support that delivers lasting change.
